"The cooking class was very authentic, educational and cozy. We used all kinds of traditional cookware, and you got a lot of chances to try things out and make things yourself. Naveen knew a lot about the dishes, the ingredients and told a lot of background information about the dishes and everything that grew in the garden. He told how cooking and eating are connected to body and mind, very interesting!
His brother also has a shop with handmade stuff and tea, here we also bought some fun stuff!

"One of the most wholesome experiences I've had in Sri Lanka. Naveen welcomed us into his home like we were old friends, and he taught us how to cook the way his family has done it forever. We scraped our own coconut for milk, picked potatoes straight from their garden, and crushed herbs by hand until the whole place smelled unreal. And the whole time, he kept sharing little stories and facts about Sri Lankan food, ingredients, and the way people here cook at home, and how food is used to heal the soul.
Every detail made the meal feel more alive. His parents were some of the kindest people I've ever met, the kind of kindness that stays with you long after you leave.

"We had an incredible experience at Kumbuk Kitchen with Naveen and his wonderful family, it was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka.
Being welcomed into their home and learning about Indigenous Sri Lankan cooking was unforgettable. From digging up yams in their garden to preparing a fresh coconut, we loved learning about the ingredients that go into Sri Lanka's delicious cuisine. It was such a wholesome experience, creating a variety of curries, sambol, and even dessert using the freshest, most natural ingredients from the land surrounding Naveen's home.
Highly recommend!! Hopefully we can try and recreate some of the delicious food and the memories once we are home."
