about me

Hello! My name is Baktybala, a Kazakh name that means "the child who brings happiness." My life has been a genuine roller coaster, and I have dedicated myself to mastering the journey through art and inner work.

I am an interdisciplinary artist working at the boundary of art and psychology. In our modern capitalistic society, this is the current term—but in ancient times, I believe I would have been a shaman or a guide dedicated to the spiritual guidance of others.

My creative practice spans several mediums:

  • Visual Arts: Photography, video, drawing, and art direction.

  • Writing and reflective blogging.

Complementing my artistic work, I offer spiritual mentorship. Deep, transformative experiences throughout my life became an opportunity to connect with my soul's purpose at an early age. My approach today is a unique and holistic approach which is blend of psychology, coaching, spirituality, and Bhakti Yoga. If you are interested, feel free to schedule a 1:1 session with me.

Currently, I live in Sri Lanka, where I am dedicated to the Kumbuk Community project. We are deeply committed to creating a sustainable environment, rooted in indigenous practices.

The project includes:

  • Jungle Sanctuary Villa: A space for rest and connection.

  • Authentic Sri Lankan Cooking Classes.

  • Herbal Walks: Where guests learn about sustainability, indigenous farming, and local food culture. (learn more about Kumbuk community)

My path to holistic wellness began early. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (IBD) when I was just ten years old, which led to years of conventional medication. More than two years ago, I made a significant shift, transitioning entirely from pharmaceutical medication to natural medicine and a sustainable lifestyle.

Through my creative work and my mentorship, I share my journey in hopes of inspiring you to follow your own soul path and live your most authentic life.

Welcome to the space where art and co-creation meet!
